Cari Shayne

A Midwest native, Cari Shayne moved to NYC at the age of 17 where she attended and graduated from the prestigious Professional Children's School. Her first professional break came shortly after, when Shayne was cast as series regular, Karen Wexler, in the number one daytime drama GENERAL HOSPITAL , propelling her into the national spotlight early in her career. However, a move to primetime is what served to broaden her appeal to a wider audience when she joined the cast of the hit FOX drama PARTY OF FIVE where she spent 2 seasons playing Nina Dimeo, the best friend of Neve Campbell.

Shayne went on to star in numerous critically acclaimed films such as the NBC miniseries NAOMI and WYNONNA: LOVE CAN BUILD A BRIDGE in which she portrayed the young life of county music sensation Naomi Judd. Other such films include THE PRICE OF HEAVEN, the 1950's period drama directed by award winning director Peter Bogdanovich, Louisa May Alcott's, THE INHERITANCE in which she played the lead character opposite Thomas Gibson (Criminal Minds), DANCING AT THE HARVEST MOON starring with Eric Mabius (Ugly Betty), the western classic SHAUGNESSY with Sarah Paulson and Sundance favorite JACK THE DOG.

Cari reunited with Thomas Gibson on the series CRIMINAL MINDS as Detective Rachel Harding and also made appearances on such television series as COLD CASE, AMERICAN DREAMS, THE DIVISION, STAR TREK VOYAGER, BEVERLY HILLS, 90210 and starred in the television pilots, FORBIDDEN ISLAND and DOPE, in which she co-starred with Jason Priestly. Shayne appeared in the first ever action series made for mobil and broadband platforms entitled FLATLAND starring the late Dennis Hopper, from the producers of Million Dollar Baby and The Godfather.

Cari is also a REGISTERED NURSE specializing in Labor & Delivery and Newborns. In addition to working in an acute care hospital, she is a MEDICAL TECHNICAL ADVISOR for film and television.
